Buymedia, an emerging AI tech start-up founded in 2015 has raised an impressive €21,000 as part of their ‘Advertise for Good’ initiative for UNICEF Ireland, a global organisation dedicated to improving the lives of children around the world.
As part of the pilot programme, Buymedia agreed to contribute a portion of its revenue generated between August and December, to UNICEF’s Core Resources for Results, as well as allowing advertisers and media partners to also contribute through their media platform.
The cheque was presented by Fergal O’ Connor, CEO and Anna Forde, Media Executive of Buymedia to Aine McKeown, Business Development Manager and Owen Buckley, Head of Corporate Partnerships, UNICEF Ireland.
Since the inception of Buymedia, Fergal has always wanted to give back and to make a difference and improve the world around him. Now that the pilot programme has ended, Buymedia’s efforts don’t stop here. Buymedia will extend the successful pilot programme to more charities in 2023.
This year Buymedia will allow the business community to select their chosen charities to be included in the initiative. Businesses will soon be able to vote for their charity on the Buymedia website (buymediahq.com) and an official announcement of the selected charities will be made towards the end of May.
It's encouraging to see that an SME can raise this amount of funding over a short period of time, imagine what impact the bigger corporate community could make if we all work together for a greater cause. According to Harvard Business School, 77% of consumers are more likely to purchase from companies that have a hand in bettering the world.
